FDA announces nationwide baby wipe recall. Brand list here.

October 27, 2014

The baby wipe recall that began in a limited area earlier this month has now expanded to a nationwide recall and includes a much larger number of brands.

The parent company, Nutek Disposables, has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of baby wipes because some may contain bacteria (burkholderia cepacia).

The baby wipes were distributed before October 21st at Fred's, Family Dollar, Sam's Club, Walgreens, and online at diapers.com.

The brand names include: Cuties, Femtex, Fred's, Member's Mark, Simply Right, Kidgets, Well Beginnings, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch, and diapers.com.

While "the bacteria poses little medical risk to healthy people," the company said, "people who have certain health problems may be more susceptible to infections."

More details about the recall are available at the FDA's website here.
