37 child seat models made by Britax have been recalled. The seats have a potential safety defect that could prevent them from locking properly, rendering them useless in the event of an accident.
The company issued the recall in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to the company no one has reported an injury due to the defect.

To address this issue, Britax is automatically mailing a free remedy kit to all registered owners of the recalled car seats within 7-10 business days of the announcement. The remedy kit includes one (1) non-toxic food-grade lubricant, a label indicating that the remedy has been completed, as well as an instruction sheet for applying the lubricant to the harness adjuster button.
