Bumble Bee Foods is recalling several varieties of its popular tuna products after it was discovered that problems with the products' sealing may lead to spoilage or other contamination.
Tri-Union Seafoods LLC also announced a recall on several of their Chicken of the Sea brand 5 oz. cans of chunk white albacore because of similar problems.
No illnesses have yet been reported, but as a spokesperson for Bumble Bee said "The health and safety of our consumers is paramount. We (are) alerting our customers...and asking them to remove it from the store shelves."

If you get food poisoning from a product, restaurant, catering, or other event in which the food preparer is obligated to prepare and present a safe product, you may be entitled to damages as a result of your illness. While food poisoning is a potentially serious illness, it is also difficult to prove because oftentimes symptoms do not appear immediately, and unless a number of individuals are made sick it is difficult to prove the originator is at fault. Timing is also critical. You should contact us immediately if you suspect you have a case in order for our office to obtain important information in order to prove fault.
