The University of Tennessee Lady Vols softball team made it to the World Series again after winning the SEC Eastern Division title for the fifth time, and stacking up 50 victories over the course of the 2012 season. However, the team fell short, losing to Oregon 3-1 over the weekend. Jackson natives Ellen & Ivy Renfroe pitched for the Lady Vols in both games. Both of the former TCA softball standouts return to the Lady Vols roster next season. Seniors Ashley Andrews, Holly Baker, Shelby Burchell and Cat Hosfield wrap up their college careers as part of 190 career wins and two WCWS appearances. We are all extremely proud of Ellen (a sophomore) and Ivy (a junior) Renfroe as they represented the Jackson area well with their performances all season.
