Over 90 million people have gotten a stimulus benefit in some way, shape, form, or fashion...which is great, but there are over 380 million people in the U.S., so there are lots of folks still wondering, 'Where's my money?'

While many have received their direct deposits, and some have received checks, many others are still checking their online bank account daily, and/or eaglerly opening their mailbox hoping for an envelope....but to no avail.

There are 6 reasons you may not have gotten your stimulus check yet....

The IRS doesn’t have your bank-account information. About 14 million Americans don't have bank accounts. The FDIC is encouraging folks to open accounts so they can get their stimulus money faster. After opening your new account, you can submit your banking info to the IRS. If you don't file returns, you'll need to submit your info via an IRS website page for people who don't file. Click here. Meanwhile, people who HAVE filed, but didn't give the IRS their banking info can submit through an IRS page called 'get my payment' (click here) This can also show payment status. IF that page doesn't give you any answer, it could be that they haven't finished processing your 2019 return or other issues.
You make too much money to qualify. Payments of $1,200 goes to individuals making less than $75,000 and married couples earning under $150,000. It also pays parents $500 for each child age 17 and younger. The payments are $5 less per every $100 above the $75K/$150K levels. Make over $99,000? You don't qualify, as well as couples over $198,000.
Someone may be claiming you as a dependent. Some younger adults may miss out because t heir parents claimed them as dependents. The IRS counts a dependent as someone age 17 and under, but if they are reviewing a 2018 return, it may be at a time when somone is a high school senior or now in college.
Glitches. Some of the national tax preparers have been offering clients a refund on a debit card. That could mean that the government may not be putting the 'stimulus' money in the right account. Some national tax preparers offer advances on a client’s refund, with the money loaded onto a debit card. Yet that could mean the IRS might not be putting the stimulus money in the right account.
Debt collectors could have taken it already. If you have a legal judgement filed against you, debt collectors have a legal right to reach into your bank account when the funds available and take the money you have agreed to pay them.
Your immigration status could be the problem. The government is paying stimulus checks to U.S. citizens....as well as certain categories of non-US citizens. This list includes “legal permanent residents,” a/k/a "green-card holders...but if you still has a green-card application pending, you may not receive a stimulus check, at least not any time soon.
